yay! we finally arrived in cortina! this highly anticipated weekend trip has been in the works for over a year now and we were all ecstatic to be on the road to go play in the SNOW! in CORTINA!!
the drive there was so so pretty! we live near verona and got zero snow, so it was fun driving further north and seeing all this snow. and we even loved being stuck behind this logging truck for 10 minutes. how picture perfect, right??!
after we checked into our hotel, we hopped right back in our car to go grab some lunch. everything was so warm and hearty and a wonderful start to our weekend here! we even had the owner’s sweet black lab keep us company as she sat by our feet during our meal. she was just like tyler (our yellow lab). i couldn’t help feeding her some of my yummy beef!!! i can never resist those sad puppy eyes!
when it was time for us to head out for dinner, i noticed kate’s face looked flushed and feverish and that she didn’t seem like herself. i told chris i would stay behind with her and asked him to try to find a thermometer at a pharmacy (next time we are packing one!).
so, chris took jack out to dinner, and afterwards brought back some takeout from the same restaurant for us. hope she feels better tomorrow after a good night’s rest, but if not, that’s okay – we can stay in and chris and i can tag team so that we can still explore the town with jack.
sweet kit kat – not feeling well, but never complaining:
by the way, when we travel, i like to pack these plum organics (pear, spinach, and peas) pouches to make sure the kids get their doses of veggies in – lately, jack has been refusing them saying they are for babies, so i’ll pack the apple cinnamon gogo squeez pouches for him. they also make great snacks. in the summer months, i put them in the freezer so they are nice and cold by the time they are ready to be eaten!
here’s to a (hopefully) fun ski day tomorrow!
