CORTINA, ITALY: SURREAL SUNRISE + SLEDDING!

watching this morning’s sunrise hues gloriously framed by the majestic dolomites (UNESCO world heritage site by the way) is something i will never forget as long as i live. as my family slept peacefully, i stepped out into the quiet onto our hotel balcony and drank in the view. just utterly mesmerized and feeling incredibly grateful for this GIFT…

this trip to cortina d’ampezzo was booked over a year ago and i couldn’t believe we were finally here. this surreal sunrise made it feel even more like a dream!

we are staying at the hotel piccolo pocol. we just love it here – the rooms are so clean, airy and bright! and the staff made us completely feel at home, but the best part?? the part that made me choose this place!: that fact that they had this giant hill in the back where we could happily sled away to our hearts’ content!

such a brilliant day today! crisp and sunny and the PERFECT day for sledding! the kids had a blast going up and down, up and down, for probably a gazillion times!!

this mama was super excited to have her turn! jack and kate were so cute giving me some last minute sledding tips so that i wouldn’t tip over (which i happily did)!
