you know what i just LOVE about these two?? their funny little conversations they have with one another! sometimes they sound like an elderly couple married for eight long decades!
here are some i overheard throughout the afternoon! chris and i couldn't stop laughing!
jack: hey kate? can you stop fooling around and help me find some ripe strawberries?
kate: (hop, skip, jump, swish, and TWIRL around!)
jack was just determined to find every single ripe berry 🍓 in the farm and couldn't understand why kate wasn't focusing on this very important job! it was pretty hilarious to see his sour expression next to kate's oblivious one as she hopped + fleeted around like a butterfly and buzzed like a bee! and ladies and gentlemen, this is WHY we put on shorts/shorties when she wears dresses!
this one also had me snorting away!!!:
kate: wait for me, jack!
jack: you have to catch up, kate. i'm very busy.
a very busy five year old!! 😂 i always say that jack reminds me of ralphie from A CHRISTMAS STORY! which i just MUST go visit before i leave this earth.
Wow! Your blog is simply awesome. Love the pictures. Beautifully captured
Thank you so much! I’m really enjoying your blog as well. I can’t wait to visit all the places you mention!
Something as simple as taking the kids strawberry picking might not seem like much but it’s enough to create a life time of memories.
I agree! My favorite moments from my childhood are the ones of my family and I going apple picking in the orchards of upstate New York. Each year, as summer started winding down, I looked forward to this so much!! My parents didn’t think to take any photos so they only exist in our memories. I sure am making up for that now with maybe TOO many photos of my own little family…😜
Such cute darlings you have. And the pictures. Wow!! They just make me want to be there once I realize I am not there.
Thanks, Sammi! Ahhhh, these kids grow up just too fast.
This makes me want to pick fruit with my boys. I wish that there were strawberry fields here in the desert of Albuquerque but our crops are green chile, tomatoes, peppers, zucchini, and fruit trees like apples and peaches.
Oh, Tara – I would LOVE to go pick green chile, tomatoes, peppers, zucchini, apples & peaches in Albuquerque! That sounds so fun! Isn’t apple picking time coming up? I don’t know if they let us pick our own apples here in Italy, but we are definitely going to check them out this fall. Can’t wait to see your photos when you go!
These pictures are so great! I would love to do this sometime with my kids!
This was our third year going – we went one more time the following year and it was just fun and exciting each time! You should definitely go next summer!
I love how unique your blog is. The photos, the writing… I can imagine you and your kids looking back in 25 years and loving everything.
Oh, thank you Heather! I LOVE yours too! So inspiring! Kate LOVES your homemade jam photos and keeps asking when we can make them too!
Beauty photos! A real delight to follow along on the strawberry picking journey. I felt like a child again. What a wonderful immersive, child-friendly experience that exposes them to the importance of supporting locally-sourced food and healthy eating.
These two kiddos definitely keep me feeling young and because of them we try to eat healthier! It really is such a joy to see their faces when they learn how food is grown! Thanks for stopping by!!
This is such a great post and reminds me of my apple picking days as a child. My girls love to go picking apples, my hubby likes the cider.
I love strawberries and I love the place also. the kids they enjoy picking strawberries 🙂
