i was super excited to receive these birthday invites in the mail! putting the final touches with this whimsical little pennant was a lot of fun ..except for the sewing part. i’m not the best at sewing so it took forever to sew even one card, but i really love how it came out! i also made a bigger version of the pennant to hang on the wall (for the party and after in kate’s room).

These invites are gorgeous! I want to make them for my daughter’s birthday!
Wow those invites are super cute – but that must have been heaps of work to put them together 😮
What a wonderful idea! It looks so beautiful!
Aww.. these invites are beautiful! I hope Kate had a great 1st Birthday.
Thanks, Katie-Lou! Like I mentioned to you already, I just love this version of your name! She sure did! At the time I wondered to myself WHY am I putting all this effort into a party she won’t even remember. But now, at 6 she just treasures every photo and loves looking through her album. After all, the very first birthday only comes ONCE!! 😁🎂
My son is getting ready to turn one as well. Your invites are beautiful, I hope she has a great birthday!
Awww, happy birthday to your little guy in advance! Turning one is such a big deal!!! Kate turned one 5 years ago (so sad how fast time flies) and I had such a great time planning her birthday. She loves looking through those photos now!
These are so pretty!! This definitely gives me inspiration for my daughters party!
Thanks, Melissa! I think this would look adorable for ANY type of event! Boys’ birthday, Retirement, Grand opening, etc. Good luck with your daughter’s party!!
Oh wow this is super adorable, now if only I could do this without mistakes. I will try for my son’s first birthday, time to get crafty.
When my sewing job went off the flags, I convinced myself it was RUSTIC + more homemade! Haha!!!
I just love these invites! What a great job. I don’t think I even had invites when my kids turned one.
I probably wouldn’t have had either except after shooting weddings for over ten years and temporarily stopping after Jack and Kate were born, I missed it terribly! My favorite parts were all the details like rings, dress, shoes, and especially the invites! I loved photographing them – after all, they set the tone of the wedding. So, I guess I needed a little wedding-ish fix with my own kid’s birthday celebration! 😝
Such an adorable idea and so pretty! I’m very impressed with your creativity. Thank you for sharing.
What a lovely invites you have there! So creative and fun to DIY them with colorful cloth. I am sure this will leave the best memory for Kate. You are such a wonderful parent!
These invitations are sooooo cute! You really took the time to make them. In my case, I no longer spend so much time in invitations as I hardly have time to deliver them anyway. I just make use of Facebook events. haha
The invitations are adorable, love the theme.

Wooow… Amazing idea! I adore those little fabric triangles and the old typewriter style. <3 Thank you for sharing this idea!!!
Wow! The invite is just too cute! I’ve never thought of sewing in fabric on paper. Or at least I wouldn’t think of it because it’s just too much effort. 😛 This is definitely a work of love. And it seems like this idea is gonna be copied for my nephew’s 2nd birthday party!(wink, wink!)
Oh it came out very cute, so adorable, ghee e-very year i get rattled when i have to do mine, the bunting is too cute
I love the little touch you created with adding the pennant to the invite. That is awesome that you are working past your feeling of lack of sewing skills to create a matching banner for the party.
After receiving such an unique and thoughtful invite, how can one possibly not show up with an equally thoughtful and creative gift?
Aaw!So pretty and colorful invite these are. I’d also be so glad to receive such a bunch. Happy birthday to Kate!Xoxo!
