{published on april 27, 2019} LA MAISON ROSE! we had such a delicious lunch at this utterly charming cafe on this equally charming street (2 rue de l’abreuvoir)! it was a gorgeous day but there was a brisk chill in the air today, so stepping into this cozy cafe to have a warm meal felt incredibly comforting!
{published on april 14, 2019} starbucks, chick-fil-a, target, anthropologie, hobby lobby. these fab five places were all second homes to me especially when jack and kate were super little. the first two had drive-thru – best invention a mom of little kiddos could ask for!!! when we moved to italy, all five of my beloved places…
I think Italy was afraid that if there was a Starbucks everywhere, it would negatively impact the local coffee shops. In my opinion, the Starbucks and the local coffee shops don’t need to compete as we still go to both. My husband prefers the local coffee shops and I can go either way. I was just so excited as it reminded me of HOME (U.S. where we are from). Tourists will go to both as well.replycancel
{published on july 7, 2018} milan – it’s not a very far drive from our apartment, so it makes for a perfect day trip. we also love to try a new place to eat every time we are there although temakinho located in the brera district – may just HAVE to be on repeat! their food was our favorite kind and dining in such a pretty
Right??! You will be SO close to Milan, you must swing by!! Are you heading there mid September? I think by then the FIRST Starbucks in Italy will be open! We love Italian coffee, but I sure miss my Starbucks and I am just over the moon right now that I may get to my beloved Pumpkin Spice Latte ☕🍂!replycancel
Milan has quickly become one of my favorite cities in Italy! I think a large part of that is the amount of AMAZING dining choices available! After a fun outing there, we know we will sit down to a guaranteed amazing meal. Later this month, I want us to visit Cimitero Monumentale (an open air museum with sculptures and tombs from the late 19th and early 20th centuries) and catch some Vietnamese food in Chinatown. We’ve never been to either so we are super excited!!replycancel

Thank you, Wendy! This font always reminds me of reading the New York Times! Growing up, this paper was the first thing I saw at the breakfast table! My dad’s face was always buried in it. But he would always put it down when he saw me and hand me my favorite sections. We would both read while we munched on my mom’s amazing French toasts and scrambled eggs!replycancel
OMG your kids are so cute! I didn’t go to Lake Como when I went to Italy. It looks beautiful. I went to all the typical cities: Rome, Milan, Venice and Florence. I hear the Almafi Coast is beautiful as well. Need to make my way back soon to hit all the other spots I missed!

OMGGGG! i have just came back home from my recent trip to Paris and i regret it that i didn’t go to La Maison ROse! It is undoubtedly one of the most important places in Montmarte!
