KATE TURNS FOUR: A PEPPA PIG PARTY!

{published on april 24, 2019} today, we had the BEST day celebrating our dearest kit kat turning FOUR years old! how is this possible that she is four already??! it seems like it was just yesterday she was a newborn snuggled on my chest deep asleep after a happy feeding. her sweet newborn smell, my feeling of utter contentment, ah i get sappy just thinking about it…

  I must confess: I watch Peppa Pig episodes on YouTube even when kids are not home! In Italy, near Verona, there is an amusement park called Gardaland. They recently opened up a Peppa Pig Land with Peppa’s house and everything. I think I was more excited to go in her house than the kids there!replycancel

GONE STRAWBERRY PICKING!

{published on july 18, 2018} ahhhh, kentucky! you are just beyond gorgeous with your LUSH green rolling hills! after hills after hills…

the drive from our home to this perfect little red barn farm was probably the most relaxing ride of my life. there were so many timeless picturesque scenes, i felt like we had stepped back in time – to the 1800s!

  I agree! My favorite moments from my childhood are the ones of my family and I going apple picking in the orchards of upstate New York. Each year, as summer started winding down, I looked forward to this so much!! My parents didn’t think to take any photos so they only exist in our memories. I sure am making up for that now with maybe TOO many photos of my own little family…😜replycancel

This makes me want to pick fruit with my boys. I wish that there were strawberry fields here in the desert of Albuquerque but our crops are green chile, tomatoes, peppers, zucchini, and fruit trees like apples and peaches.replycancel

  Oh, Tara – I would LOVE to go pick green chile, tomatoes, peppers, zucchini, apples & peaches in Albuquerque! That sounds so fun! Isn’t apple picking time coming up? WATERMELON WEDNESDAY!

{published on august 9, 2018} what do you do on a hot summer day with a 3.5 year old and an almost 2 year old?! why, eat watermelon under an overpass, of course! seriously though, every day we try to keep busy and one of our favorite activities is taking nature walks.

These photos are absolutely stunning and of course, the subjects have a lot to do with that. After seeing them, I now want two things. The first is to find an ice-cold watermelon and chill it, and the second is I’d love to know what camera you shoot with. I’m sure it all comes down to talent but I tend to blame my cameras instead of owning up to that, lol.replycancel

  Oh Terri, you are so funny!! For these photos I used a Nikon D3, but for all my travel photos I’ve been using the Nikon D7200 lately – smaller and easier to carry around! I think more than the camera body, it’s the LENS that makes the biggest impact. My favorite lens to use is the 35mm f1.4G from Nikon. Camera bodies come and go, but good lenses are an investment that keeps its value!! I’ve had my lenses for over 10 years!
